Background

In December of 2008 my white blood cell counts mysteriously started to decrease and despite numerous tests and visits to doctors, no answer could be found.   In the fall of 2009, my energy started to decrease and my platelets also fell.  In January, the specialists decided that I needed to have my spleen removed and after a rough 72 hours I began to feel amazingly well and we were all hopeful that the mystery was solved.  Unfortunately, on January 28th we learned that the pathology reports revealed a rare and aggressive form of cancer, hepatosplenic t-cell lymphoma.

Dr. Julie Vose at the Univ. of Neb. Medical Ctr  in Omaha will be leading my treatment which will include 4 rounds of aggressive chemo followed by a stem cell transplant this spring.   It will be a long road to recovery, but am sure that God has been preparing me for this journey for the past 30+ years and that in the end, it will be glorifying - even if we are never able to see or understand the plan.

The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with his Love, He will rejoice over you with singing." -Zeph 3:17
